Electric vibratory roller

The Ammann eARX 26-2 tandem vibratory roller is the first fully electric machine in its category. In collaboration with the manufacturer, we designed the drive system of the roller and we also supply electric motors, motor controllers, power distribution units (PDUs), and several other components for the machine.
Quiet and Eco-friendly
The eARX 26-2 electric tandem vibratory roller is an innovative machine that received significant interest among professionals and general public immediately after its introduction. No wonder, as it was the world’s first fully electrified machine in its category at the time. Thanks to the clever design of the electric drive, nearly all hydraulic elements have been eliminated, making the machine exceptionally quiet, efficient, and, last but not least, easy to operate and maintain.
Our task was to work closely with the manufacturer’s engineering team and support them with designing an efficient yet sufficiently powerful electric drive system that would enable the machine to operate reliably in standard shifts. This was achieved not only through the selection of an appropriate battery with sufficient capacity but also by using efficient electric motors and related components.
Efficiency and Top-class Components
The solution we provided for the eARX 26-2 roller includes a set of electric motors for propel and drive of the machine's vibrating drums. Additionally, we supply custom-programmed motor controllers that enable precise and convenient regulation of individual motor speeds, as well as all related wiring harness.
Moreover, we developed a sophisticated power distribution unit specifically designed by our application engineers for this machine, ensuring flawless system functionality. These PDUs are being assembled directly in our development center.
