By designing hydraulic drive, control software, and HMI for an inland pusher tug, we have expanded our customer portfolio with the shipbuilding industry. 

The hydrostatic propulsion of the ship's propeller is powered using a set of high performance pump and hydraulic motor, complemented by the reliable PVG proportional valve. To control ship's propel, the operator uses a pair of CAN joysticks and a color display which offers a clear overview of all key parameters.

Czech-made boat

The pusher tug, manufactured by Czech company JESKO CZ, is used for moving assemblies of gravel and sand barge units on enclosed water bodies, either head-on or sideways. The maximum carrying capacity of the barge is 200 tons. Besides designing the hydraulic drive and control system for the the first vessel of the new generation, we have also helped the manufacturer build the following pieces. Currently, the modernized pusher tugs are being operated at several gravel and sand pits across the Czech Republic, e.g. in Tovačov and Náklo in the Olomouc region.

Powerful hydrostatic drive

At the centre of the hydraulic system is the Danfoss H1P pump, powered by an internal combustion engine. As a part of the effort to achieve high efficiency of the system, we used the H1B hydraulic motor to propel the boat’s screw, and a Series 90 hydraulic motor to rotate the nozzle. The coupling gear that secures the pushed barge is powered by a smaller gear hydraulic motor. All functions of the hydraulic system are controlled by a reliable 3-section PVG 32 proportional valve.

Modern and comfortable control

In the cabin, operator uses a pair of proportional CAN joysticks to control the drive smoothly and comfortably. Signal from joysticks is processed in a PLUS+1 MC microcontroller, programmed by our software designers. Another device connected to the CAN bus is a DM430E color display, which provides a real-time overview of key performance data, such as speed of the propeller, nozzle rotation angle or working pressure in the closed hydraulic circuit.

Fluid conveyance solution

In addition to the hydrostatic drive solution, we have also delivered and assembled a complex fluid conveyance system, including stainless steel hydraulic pipes, hydraulic hoses, fittings, and other connecting material for optimal fluid distribution in the hydraulic circuit.
